Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Row0 Inc handles information when you play the native iOS version of 2048 Diner, make an in-app purchase, sync a save, visit these pages, or contact support.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

The quick version

  • You can play without a Row0 account. 2048 Diner contains no advertising SDK and shows no ads.
  • We always collect limited pseudonymous app activity and gameplay measurements in configured builds so we can operate the service, understand retention, improve levels, and diagnose problems.
  • The opening agreement includes a checked 18-or-older confirmation. You can uncheck it and play the full game without optional GameAnalytics or Apple’s tracking request being started.
  • We do not sell personal information, use first-party gameplay data for advertising, share it with data brokers, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • Your game save starts on your device. If iCloud is available, Apple CloudKit can sync it through your private iCloud database.
  • Apple processes App Store payments. We do not receive your payment-card number.
  • A pseudonymous support code and a limited current gameplay snapshot help us answer support requests and review possible cheating or purchase abuse.
  • Optional GameAnalytics collection begins only after an affirmative choice and Apple tracking permission. That choice does not control the always-on first-party app activity and gameplay measurements described below.

Who is responsible

Row0 Inc, a company registered in Canada, is the developer of 2048 Diner and the controller of information it collects for the purposes described here. Information and purposes

Game progress and settings

2048 Diner stores progress, best scores and stars, tutorial and unlock state, lives, virtual currency and tools, purchase-reconciliation identifiers, your chosen player screen name and avatar/frame, and preferences on your device. We use this information to run the game, recover from corruption, prevent duplicate rewards, preserve legitimate purchases, and show the profile you selected.

iCloud save

If iCloud is available, 2048 Diner uses Apple CloudKit to sync a structured save through your private iCloud database. The save can include progress, virtual economy state, your chosen player screen name and avatar/frame, a pseudonymous purchase-ledger token, and StoreKit transaction identifiers used to reconcile purchases. Apple processes this information under its own iCloud and privacy terms. You can play offline when iCloud is unavailable.

In-app purchases

Apple StoreKit handles payment and returns signed transaction information to the app. 2048 Diner and its purchase ledger may process a pseudonymous app-account token, product and transaction identifiers, purchase environment and history, Apple-verified price, currency and storefront, the virtual grant, fulfillment status, and refund or revocation status. We use these records to deliver purchases once, restore legitimate paid value across installs or devices, understand aggregate purchase value, prevent fraud, resolve support issues, and comply with legal obligations. Apple, not Row0, receives your payment-card details.

Player support and fair play

2048 Diner may send Row0 a limited support record linked to a pseudonymous app-account token, a readable support code, and a random installation ID. It can include app and build version, iOS version, device family, locale, save revision and integrity status, level and avatar progress, your chosen player screen name and avatar/frame, stars, win streak, chests, current virtual-currency and tool totals, purchase and economy-record counts, gameplay counters such as levels, moves, orders made, merges made, best combo and tools used, and a bounded history of virtual-currency and tool changes with duplicate-safe event IDs, reasons, amounts, times, and economy versions. We use this information to troubleshoot lost progress or purchases, understand the state the player reports, analyze virtual-economy sources and sinks, protect the game economy, prepare private profiles for future game features, and identify unusual activity or inappropriate player screen names for human review.

Your player screen name is private and unpublished by default; 2048 Diner does not currently provide a public player-profile or multiplayer name lookup. This first-party support and security flow does not ask for your legal name, email address, Apple or iCloud account information, advertising identifier, contacts, photos, or precise location, and it does not copy the full contents of your private CloudKit save. It is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. It can operate when optional GameAnalytics is declined or Apple tracking permission is denied because it is used for 2048 Diner support, functionality, security, and product analysis.

Always-on first-party app activity and gameplay measurements

When a configured Internal, TestFlight, or App Store build is used, 2048 Diner sends Row0 bounded app activity and gameplay measurements. These can include foreground, periodic active-use, and background events; account creation and activity times; app, build, content and operating-system versions; coarse device family and locale; and gameplay details such as the exact stage revision, attempt timing, moves and merges, order progress, result, boosters and assistance, time zone, and a sampled technical move trace. We use these records to measure active players and retention, understand feature and level performance, and diagnose problems. The service uses a private random app-account token and random installation ID to group sessions and retries, prevent duplicate delivery, answer deletion requests, and distinguish one installation from another.

These random identifiers contain no name or email, but they are stable and can be reconciled with the game’s save, purchase, and support systems. The data is therefore pseudonymous rather than technically anonymous. It does not include IDFA, contacts, photos, precise location, advertising data, or free-form text. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, share it with data brokers, or combine it with third-party data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. This first-party service operates independently of the optional GameAnalytics and Apple tracking choices.

Optional GameAnalytics

If you opt in and Apple authorizes tracking, 2048 Diner enables GameAnalytics. It may receive a random app-scoped player ID, an Apple advertising identifier when permitted, IP-derived country, app/build version, device model, operating system, locale, session information, gameplay and progression events, purchase interactions, and SDK-declared performance, crash, and diagnostic information. We use this to balance levels, understand feature reliability, fix bugs, and measure launch quality. We do not send your name, email address, Apple Account password, payment-card number, contacts, photos, or precise location to GameAnalytics.

GameAnalytics acts as our analytics processor and uses infrastructure and subprocessors that may process information in the United States and other countries. Its current documentation identifies AWS, GCP, and Imply and provides contractual transfer safeguards for covered EU and UK data.

Support and privacy requests

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, attachments, and the diagnostic details you choose to include. The in-app email helper can add the app version, build number, support code, random installation ID, and, where applicable, an analytics ID. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or unnecessary identity documents.

Apple diagnostics and website delivery

Apple may provide developers with crash or performance reports when you choose to share diagnostics with developers. Our hosting providers may temporarily process IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure these public pages and the purchase service. We do not add advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers to these legal pages.

Legal reasons for processing

Depending on where you live, we rely on your consent for optional GameAnalytics; performance of our agreement and legitimate service needs for gameplay, first-party app activity and gameplay measurement, save sync, support, and purchase fulfillment; and legal obligations or legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention, accounting, refunds, and legal claims. You can decline optional GameAnalytics without losing access to the game.

Sharing

We share information only as needed with service providers that help us operate 2048 Diner, including Apple for App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and diagnostics; GameAnalytics for opted-in analytics; and hosting, database, email, security, and support providers for first-party services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect players or the service, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention

  • Local and iCloud save: kept while the save exists. In-app cloud deletion requests deletion of the active CloudKit save and resets local progress. Apple controls underlying iCloud backup and account retention.
  • GameAnalytics: its published schedule limits granular technical logs and analytics on a rolling basis, generally up to 12 months before deletion or anonymization, with some granular event access ending earlier and limited aggregate totals potentially retained longer.
  • First-party app activity and gameplay measurements: ingest receipts are normally retained for 30 days; invalid quarantined client records for 7 days; raw app activity for up to two years; raw attempts and events for up to two years while a revision is current and 180 days after it is retired; aggregate, cohort, security, deletion, or legal records may follow a longer approved schedule. A verified deletion request overrides normal analytics retention unless a documented legal obligation applies.
  • Purchase ledger: retained while needed to deliver and reconcile purchases and for up to seven years after the relevant transaction where needed for fraud prevention, refunds, tax/accounting, or legal claims.
  • Player support, private profile, and virtual-economy history: normally retained while the profile is active and for up to 24 months after the last activity. Open name-moderation, fair-play, or security records may be retained longer when reasonably needed to investigate abuse, protect players, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Apple-verified purchase records follow the separate purchase-ledger schedule.
  • Support mail: normally retained for up to 24 months after the matter closes, unless you request earlier deletion or a longer period is needed for a purchase dispute, security matter, or legal obligation.
  • Privacy-request records: a limited compliance record may be retained for up to six years to document the request and our response without retaining unnecessary message content.

Your choices and rights

  • Optional GameAnalytics: uncheck the adult confirmation, decline Apple’s tracking prompt, or use the recovery/withdrawal paths described in 2048 Diner Settings and iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, Tracking.
  • First-party app activity and gameplay measurements: this service is always on in configured builds. Contact privacy support with your Support Code to request access, deletion, objection, restriction, or other rights available where you live.
  • Cloud save: use 2048 Diner Settings to delete the cloud save and reset local progress. This does not erase purchase records that must remain to prevent duplicate or lost fulfillment.
  • Player support data: use the support code shown in your Chef Profile or Settings when asking us to access or delete the support snapshot. Purchase records may remain where needed for fulfillment, fraud prevention, refunds, tax, or legal obligations.
  • Diagnostics: manage Apple’s Share With App Developers setting in iOS Settings.
  • Privacy request: ask to access, correct, delete, or receive information about data linked to your support, analytics, cloud, or purchase identifiers. You may also object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, or request portability where applicable.

We may need enough information to verify that a request relates to you. We will not ask for your Apple Account password or full payment-card number. Some purchase, fraud, security, tax, or legal records may be retained when law permits or requires it. You may complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority.

Children

2048 Diner is a general-audience game and is not specifically directed to children. The game does not ask for or store a birth date. Its opening agreement has a checked statement confirming the player is 18 or older; the player can uncheck it before continuing. If the player unchecks it, is known to be a minor, or has no confirmed adult state, the game does not start GameAnalytics or request Apple tracking authorization. The game’s limited first-party app activity and gameplay measurements, save, purchase, support, security, and cloud features can still operate as described in this notice. Supported Apple age-range signals may be used as an additional safeguard. A parent or guardian can contact us to request review, correction, or deletion.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this notice as 2048 Diner or the law changes. We will post the new date here and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. We will request a new choice before using personal information for a materially different optional purpose when required.
